I built a public version of my brain for the website

I built a public version of my brain for the website

I already run Cortex on my own desk OS. That is how sessions stop starting blind. Files stay the truth. The brain owns the connections. The model is the replaceable part.

That system was built for me. Private. Local. Full of the mess that should never leave the machine.

Then I kept teaching in public. Essays. Methods. Diagrams. The same craft I would paste into a session for myself, sitting on Ari's Space for anyone to read.

And I kept watching people (and their agents) fail the boring way: open a chat, forget the site exists, invent a half-remembered version of something I already wrote carefully.

So I built the missing half.

Ari's Brain is a public version of my teaching brain for the website. Same shape as Cortex. Different job. Not my private life in the cloud.

I put a Cortex-shaped brain on the public site so people can learn from the work I already taught.
PERSONAL window with folder, dual arrow to CONSULT window with open book, then steps to a document page
Personal stays local. Teaching gets a consult. The site becomes a knowledge bank you can stand behind.

Why I built it

I built this so people can learn AI better.

Not so I could ship another RAG demo. Not so membership could gate the essays themselves. Free deep dives stay free. Membership is the tools layer on top.

If you are trying to get good at memory layers, packing context, seats and labour, craft that survives a real run: that material already lives on the site. Reading it in a browser is still free. Letting your agent consult it is the next step. That is how you stop relearning the same lesson in every new chat.

I did not build Ari's Brain so I could feel clever about infrastructure. I built it so the teaching does not die in a tab you forgot to open.

What it is (plain English)

A way for people and their agents to use my website as a knowledge bank.

PieceWhat it does
Published libraryEssays and methods I already stood behind
Ari's BrainMember consult surface (shipping path; soft ARCHITECT+ when live)
Tool shapeSame family as Cortex: recall, regions, modes, lineage, feedback
Write ruleNo public remember. I publish. Index rebuilds. Feedback reports misses

If you only keep one sentence: the site is not just pages. It is teaching your tools can consult.

Same shape as Cortex. Different tenancy.

Cortex on the desk OS is personal memory. Ari's Brain is teaching consult. Same muscle. Different server. Different law.

Dual attach: personal Cortex and Ari's Brain as two MCP serversOne agent window in the centre. Two System 7 server windows sit left and right. Left is personal Cortex, local, with remember and recall. Right is Ari's Brain, remote teaching, with recall and feedback only. Files still own the truth on both planes. Indexes rebuild. Delete an index and you lose nothing that mattered.

How an agent uses the site

Consult is not a chatbot that paraphrases the library into mush. It is a ranked pull, then a walk home to the essay URL.

Read path from agent through MCP to projection and essay lineageVertical System 7 pipeline. YOUR AGENT calls brain.recall on the aris-brain MCP server. The server hits the library projection. Ranked units return with region and snippet. brain.lineage walks a unit back to the public essay URL. Feedback is a side channel that never writes the projection.YOUR AGENTstuck on an AI systems questionbrain.recall(query)MCP · aris-brainmember credential · rate limitedquery the projectionLIBRARY PROJECTIONpublished essays · rebuild stampedfiles own truth · index is derivedranked units + source_hashUNITS TO AGENTsnippet · region · mode-rankedbudget capped · no invented bodybrain.lineage(unit_id)ESSAY URLslug · public documents pathwalk home. always.FEEDBACKsidechannelnot index

That lineage walk is the point. If the agent quotes a method, you should be able to open the page that owns the claim. Teaching without a trail home is just vibe.

Modes are posture, not a dump of every dial

On a personal Cortex you may have a full bank of modes. On a teaching consult, modes are fewer and public-safe. They change how the agent asks, not who it is allowed to become.

Why not one brain in the cloud

I am allergic to the pitch that says: upload everything, call it a second brain, ship it to strangers.

Private Cortex stays local. Life, clients, half-formed notes, the stuff that is mine.

Public teaching is a different tenancy. I already put those essays on the site. Ari's Brain is the tool surface so an agent can consult that published truth without me pasting URLs all day, and without blurring into private memory.

Personal memory stays local. Teaching can be a second, gated consult.

The business parallel

You do not need my stack to steal the shape.

Ask one hard question about your company:

What knowledge bank do you want publicly available about your business for AI?

Not the entire internal drive. Not Slack from 2019. Not customer secrets.

The corpus you would defend if an agent quoted it in front of a client. How you ship. Product doctrine. Support playbooks you already published on purpose.

That is a business consult brain:

  1. Private ops stay private.
  2. Published truth gets a rebuildable index and a read-first tool surface.
  3. No anonymous free-for-all write into the brand brain.
  4. Lineage back to the page you own.

If you skip that split, you either leak, or you teach nothing useful, or both.

Honest shipping note

Free deep dives stay free. Membership is tools and access on top, not a tax on learning the method.

I am not selling "connect your private diary." I am shipping a member consult path over teaching I already published. Treat live attach as shipping soon until the member credential path is public. When it is ready, attach aris-brain beside your local Cortex and keep the two trust planes separate.

How this sits next to other essays

If you have not built a personal memory layer yet, start with the Cortex essay. That piece is the philosophy and the local pattern.

If you already run ARI-OS, the local brain guide is the operator surface.

This essay is the third leg: when teaching should be consultable as a second attach, so people can learn AI better without turning membership into a cloud vault for private life.

Generative Memories fits the same family. Honesty about provenance. Consult Brain is that honesty applied outward: agents get teaching with a trail home, not vibes.

The law, one more time

Attach two brains when you need both jobs.

  • Personal Cortex remembers you. Local. Read and write. Files own the truth.
  • Ari's Brain consults teaching. Remote. Read-focused. Lineage to the essay. Feedback on the side.

Same tool names so agents transfer. Different server ids so trust does not blur. No public remember. Rebuildable indexes on both sides.

That's Ari's Brain. Job: let people use the website as a knowledge bank while they build.
